INNOVATIVE EQUITY STRATEGIES OFFERS

EXIT PLANNING EXPERTISE FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

Danvers, Mass. (May 3, 2012) Innovative Equity Strategies (IES), announces the launch of a collaborative of professionals offering expertise to business owners looking to transition, evolve, or exit their business. IES offers resources to help people strategize and plan their departure from or decrease involvement in their business and prepare for and ensure financial stability throughout retirement. The service is expected to be in high demand with an estimated 14 million business owners looking to make a transition in the next 10 years.

“IES serves as the quarterback for businesses looking to tap into the best experts available who will work together to achieve the end goal,” said Jane Johnson, co-founder of IES. “We are the only company to put together all the resources needed for a successful exit strategy. Rather than simply offering just one facet of exit planning, IES fills the role of Chief Transition Officer to ensure all aspects of planning are covered.”

IES offers individualized plans to help business owners, especially those of the baby boomer generation, transition or exit from a business. Many exit plans involve a one to three year roadmap and may include expertise from several different professionals to ensure a favorable outcome for all parties involved.

“What really sets IES apart from other exit planning providers is the fact that we have professionals on board to work on assessing the financial and emotional readiness of the retirement-minded baby boomer,” said Steve Vesey, co-founder of IES. “Each and every member of our transition team is someone Jane or I have worked with and have found to have a high level of expertise and character.”

“When it came time to sell our business, I knew I’d need to look to experts who held our best interests at heart,” said Ron Buchbaum, former general manager of Boston Harley Davidson. “We had worked with Steve Vesey previously, and his business valuation was right on the money.  I know that without his expertise in executing our exit plan the entire process would have been much longer, less profitable, and not nearly as efficient. Steve and his team were unwavering in their focus and moved in an expeditious manner that allowed us to create the most profitable outcome.

IES works closely with business owners, as well as their current advisors, including, investment advisors, insurance professionals, accountants and attorneys.   Transition team members include Certified Exit Business Consultants (CBEC), Certified Business Appraisers, Wealth Managers, Estate Attorneys, Transactional Attorneys, Investment Bankers and Business Brokers.

Additional professionals in the collaborative participate as necessary to provide a robust, holistic approach to exit strategy and planning.  Their skills include:

  • Leadership Succession Planning
  • Life Coaching
  • Human Resources
  • Revenue Enhancement
  • Maximizing Business Value
  • Commercial Lending
  • Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOPs)
  • Executive Compensation

In addition to the comprehensive exit planning services for owners of larger companies, IES also offers consulting and an 8 week training course for owners of smaller companies with less than $5 million in gross revenue. The training course educates participants on all aspects of the transition planning process and enables owners to create their own self-directed plan.  Topics include: statistics related to sale activity and market trends, how to maximize company value, the five major options available to most owners, how the sales process really works, and more.
